Proof that the Government is Lying to You

What do Wikileaks, Snowden, and Trump all have in common?

If you have answered “Russia,” you may just want to skip this post… The correct answer is “The US Government is spying on its citizens.”

I believe that the Russia sleight-of-hand trick we are seeing right now, ya know the “Russians hacked the election/Trump is working with Russia/Wikileaks is an arm of Russia” is really just one big ass cover-up for what’s truly going on. I am so sorry if you have fallen for it, too.

I was in Greece the day Snowden was deemed a “whistleblower” for exposing the NSA and their massive data collection on citizens. It was almost spooky hearing the European news consistently praise him for his efforts,  only to return to the US and find his “traitor” status. And WTF? Government spying on Americans?? So, I did what any American should do when upset with their government: I wrote my Senator.

I choose now to share the response I received from the US Senator from California Dianne Feinstein, as I awoke to news that Trump Tower was wire-tapped by British Intelligence – which has access to all of the NSA data. I hear the critics, “Oh that’s fake news.” Honestly, I’m not worried about Trump Tower, I am worried about another country being able to sift through my meta data, phone calls, and emails. The Jesi & Kelli Show reported in Episode 2 about Pres. Obama’s executive order extending the NSA meta data collection access to all 16 branches of intelligence communities. If I wasn’t a conspiracy theorist there, I certainly am now. In a news article, the following appeared:

“Instead, Napolitano said, Obama used GCHQ, a British intelligence and security organization that has 24-7 access to the NSA database.”

British Intelligence. Access to NSA database. Meta data on Americans. You put that ish together. Got your interest piqued? Apparently this is old news…

Sen. Feinstein, you crazy bi-otch #smh

In an email dated July 19, 2013, US Senator Dianne Feinstein wrote to me:

“First, I understand your concerns and want to point out that by law, the government cannot listen to an American’s telephone calls or read their emails without a court warrant issued upon a showing of probable cause. As is described in the attachment to this letter provided by the Executive Branch, the programs that were recently disclosed have to do with information about phone calls – the kind of information that you might find on a telephone bill – in one case, and the internet communications (such as email) of non-Americans outside the United States in the other case. Both programs are subject to checks and balances, and oversight by the Executive Branch, the Congress, and the Judiciary.” (Read the full email here: 12)

But Would that Take a Court Order?

In this video, from June 12, 2013, the NSA Director Keith B. Alexander answers it for us:

In the same hearing, Sen. Dianne Feinstein clarifies on what legally must be done to get your meta data:

In March of the following year (2014), Sen. Feinstein got all fiery that the CIA may be spying on her and others of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Tsk, tsk, I say – what is good for the goose is good for the gander, Senator.

On another hypocritical (aka LYING) note: it was testified in congress that over a dozen terrorist attacks were foiled by this program, then a week later the number was 50; however, only two actual incidents were named in her email response. And it didn’t account for the fact that the Boston Marathon Bombing took place while this program was in effect. Read the Sen. Feinstein’s background report that was included with her email.

Where does this leave us?

Either questioning our government and their unconstitutional (4th Amendment, yo!) stealing of our privacy, personal information, and sharing of that data – or we continue to allow this to happen and give away even more of our freedoms. It’s not up to the government, it’s up to you how you want America to be.

If you feel compelled, do something. Write your senator, call your legislators, email the President, talk to friends. Find your own personal power and stand up for what you believe in.
